Biography Resource Center

The Biography Resource Center is now available in the Biography Databases section of the library website. Biography Resource Center contains more than 435,000 biographies on more than 340,000 people gathered from more than 1,000 volumes of more than 135 award-winning reference sources as well as full-text articles from magazines specifically chosen for their value to biographical research. Students can search the entire database by name, or use the Category Browse to find biographical profiles and other resources on individuals in more than 15 categories, such as athletes, world leaders, or cultural groups.

Annual Reviews Journals Online

The Annual Reviews collection of journals is now available at UHD through a cooperative arrangement with the Greater Western Library Alliance. Journals from Annual Reviews are widely recognized for their authoritative summaries and assessments of current research topics in the biomedical, life, physical, and social sciences. Many are among the most frequently cited sources in their fields. Online access to the complete collection from 1930 to present is available in Databases & Articles and in the List of Journals.

ARTstor: Images in Art & Architecture

The ARTstor databaseis the newest addition to our digital collections here at UHD. ARTstor is a digital library of nearly one million images in art, architecture, the humanities, and the social sciences. This database offers powerful tools help users make the best use of images for teaching and research. With these tools, it is easy to zoom in and pan images for greater detail; to build customized collections for classes; and to build shared folders that facilitate group projects and presentations. ARTstor is available now in the UHD Library Catalog and in the Databases & Articles section of the library web site.

Dictionary of National Biography

We are pleased to introduce the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, the standard source for biographies of men and women who shaped the history and culture of Great Britain. This classic reference source covers 55,000 notable people from the earliest times to the year 2002. Each biography includes an authoritative list of primary and secondary sources for further reading or extensive research.

The Dictionary will be added to the library web site later this month.
