JSTOR - New Journal Collections

The library has just purchased three new journal collections from JSTOR. As with all JSTOR collections, each one provides backfiles of top scholarly journals beginning with the earliest published issue but excluding current issues published in the past 3-5 years. Arts & Sciences V and Arts & Sciences VIhave 240 journals in the humanities and social sciences, with empahsis on art history, business and finance, economics, education, history, literature, linguistics, philosophy, and political science. The Life Sciences collection has 160 journals in biology, health, and general sciences. Journal titles include:

National Council of Teachers of English Journals

The library now has a comprehensive subscription to electronic journals and magazines from the National Council of Teachers of English. These publications cover research and news about English education for students in kindergarten up to college. Look for these titles in the Library Catalog or the List of Journals

Chicago Manual of Style Online

The Chicago Manual of Style Online is now available in Citing & Writing. The online version of this popular writing style guide has the complete text of the print edition, plus additional tools that allow students to make a custom style guide, or build new documents based on sample forms, letters, and style sheets.

The Chicago Manual is a comprehensive guide to writing style. Topics include how to prepare a manuscript, grammar and usage, punctuation, spelling, names, numbers, quotations, illustrations, tables, and abbreviations, as well as how to document sources in footnotes, endnotes, or a bibliography.

The Chicago Manual of Style Online can be found in the Citing & Writing section of the library website and in the UHD Library Catalog. Faculty may also add a direct link to their online course pages.
