JSTOR - New Journal Collections

The library has just purchased three new journal collections from JSTOR. As with all JSTOR collections, each one provides backfiles of top scholarly journals beginning with the earliest published issue but excluding current issues published in the past 3-5 years. Arts & Sciences V and Arts & Sciences VIhave 240 journals in the humanities and social sciences, with empahsis on art history, business and finance, economics, education, history, literature, linguistics, philosophy, and political science. The Life Sciences collection has 160 journals in biology, health, and general sciences. Journal titles include:

Annual Reviews Journals Online

The Annual Reviews collection of journals is now available at UHD through a cooperative arrangement with the Greater Western Library Alliance. Journals from Annual Reviews are widely recognized for their authoritative summaries and assessments of current research topics in the biomedical, life, physical, and social sciences. Many are among the most frequently cited sources in their fields. Online access to the complete collection from 1930 to present is available in Databases & Articles and in the List of Journals.

Global Road Warrior is the online version of the classic book on international business travel. It offers detailed profiles of business conditions and cultures in dozens of countries worldwide. Each country report includes information about business culture, demographics, money and banking, security issues, transportation and communication infrastructure, and business services, as well as information about the status of businesswomen. This resource will be a useful supplement to research for Business Cornerstone classes. Look for Global Road Warrior in Find Articles (Databases).

New Databases in Business

We are pleased to introduce two new databases for company and industry research.

Hoover's is one of the world's leading sources for company profiles and financial data. Each company profile has information about the company's background and history, its products and brand names, its officers, its domestic and foreign subsidiaries, and market share data. Hoover's also offers excellent industry profiles, and advanced tools for searching company data or comparing companies.

FirstResearch is a useful source for industry profiles and forecasts. It also offers economic data and forecasts for U.S. states and Canadian provinces. The FirstResearch "Industry Prospector" provides customized analyses of industries based on financial metrics, employment or wage data, and other industry drivers, such as consumer spending, energy prices, government regulation, or interest rates.
