The Gale Virtual Reference Library database now includes the 17-volume ebook collection Women in World History: A Biographical Encyclopedia. This set offers substantial biographies of more than 10,000 women from around 3100 BCE to the modern age. Biographies cover women from every walk of life and every corner of the world. Each biography has a list of related books, videos, and archival collections. Look for the Gale Virtual Reference Library in the Find Articles (Databases) section of the library website.

National Fire Protection Association Codes

We are pleased to announce the purchase of the NFPA Codes Online database to support students and faculty in the Safety and Fire Engineering Technology degree program. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has been the leading source of codes and standards to reduce fire and other hazards since 1896. The NFPA Codes Online database includes all current codes, plus an archive of previous codes that have been revised or withdrawn. EBSCOhost 2.0

EBSCOhost has released a new version of its popular database system. EBSCOhost 2.0 introduces a new look to databases such as Academic Search Complete, America: History & Life, Communication & Mass Media Complete, ERIC, MEDLINE, MLA International Bibliography, PsycINFO, and SocINDEX. At first, the changes will be cosmetic -- a simplified search screen, a different way of displaying search results, and easy access to the popular "How to Cite" feature. Later in 2008, EBSCOhost will use Google search technology to rank search results by relevance.
